How I got into MTB riding: I got into mountain biking with a few friends when I was 12 or so. I just did it for fun and to hang out then, kinda like now too though haha. Competed in Speed Skating on the National level for about 6 years and have a few national titles. I always wanted to bring that competitive side over to bike racing but never could convince myself to do it. The Carrol Bro's finally talked me into it last year.Glad I listened, its a blast.

What got me into cycling: I got back into biking 5 years ago after coming from indoor speed skating. Shortly after I started, a racer flew by me on the trail and I chased him down. We talked about bikes and racing and are now great friends! Next thing I know I'm on the starting line at Slaughter Pen where I managed to pull off the win with a sprint at the end. I was hooked from that point on. I then got my brother on a bike and hope to continue getting others involved and enjoying life more. I now lead group rides, organize workdays, organize biking events, and of course, race.

Favorite place to ride: Road ride on Hwy 71 from Mountainburg up to Mount Gaylor.  Mtn is a tossup between Springhill and/or Hobbs.

I have always enjoyed mountain biking but only became serious about racing in the last couple years.  I was a competitive distance runner until my knees decided that I shouldn't run anymore.  After a layoff to go to school at the UofA I took up cycling.  It allows me to be competitive and focus my energy on something healthy.
